Chicago Day 1 to 1 1/2
The drive to Chicago was an easy one. It was also a drive that made it apparent that we did in fact have bacon egg and cheese sandwiches that morning… and beer.
We got to Dave’s house around 9:30 thanks to the switch to central time. We spent the night talking and Dave gave me a bunch of music – just like last time. We slept at Terrilee’s, Daves’ mom, basement on a super comfy couch and a comfy bed according to Aleksey.
The next morning, which just so happens to be the morning of the post, we ate breakfast and set off on the Brown Line to “The Loop” in downtown Chicago. We walked a total of 9 miles through the city going here and there, and then here again, then to AAA for some maps, and then to here again.
Right now, Aleksey and I got home – Aleksey with sore calves and I with sore toes due to my soft skin rubbing on hard chaco sandals. In a bit Dave is going to give us a call and pick us up for a night out on the town.
The Plan: Get some greasy Chicagoin food – probably some good ol’ ribs, and then to the oldest Jazz bar in the city called the “Green Mill” to listen to a blind organ player and his blues band.
Here are some pictures of yesterday and today morning:

Guys, I like your NY attitude (shown on the pictures with yourself). And that slice – damn looks like of the right size.
