The drive to Bryce Canyon
We drove to Bryce Canyon from Capitol Reef on 12, a small scenic road. The drive was incredible. We crossed from the desert into Dixie National Forest – a park with rolling hills covered in white birch trees (beriozkee). This was one of my favorite locations up to date.
Later in the drive we came across “Kiva Coffee House,” which we were told about my Inna, Aleksey’s mom. Unfortunately, Kiva is closed on Tuesdays, ONLY on Tuesdays. What day did we drive by it? Tuesday. Later on we had a close encounter with some cows.
We arrived at our fancy campsite, which cost us $30, set up the tent, inflated our queen sized air mattress, and went to watch the sunset in Bryce Canyon national park.

Hey, boys!
I know –it was Tuesday! Kiva Coffee house was closed–but I see your reflection in the window of that house. so you did stop there. Thanks. I and Igor liked it very much and we had a short lunch there. But first it was a private house with very unique structure: flat from the road side, with windows to the canyon side. But we missed birch forest! Or you had a flight to Russia to take that beautiful pictures?!?
By the way, who knows the difference between birch and Aspen tree?
Eugene says that the trees were Quakin Aspen;. Aspens’ bark doesn’t peel like a birch tree’s bark does.
Thank you. and birch bark is more bright white, if I am right.
