San Diego & Zoo

We arrived at San Diego during the evening and decided to check out the Gaslamp district in downtown, where there were lots of bars and restaurants. We stumbled upon this one place that had live music (beach boys) and there were people swing dancing. We went in for a couple of beers and hung out for a bit. The next morning we drove by the pier and went to the San Diego Zoo.

The zoo was huge and had many interesting animals. It took us a few hours to cover it all and after we were done we set off to Los Angeles.

Joshua Tree

After Vegas, we drove to Joshua Tree national park. The park is filled with these weird, almost cactus looking trees. On top of that it is also home to very interesting boulder formations. There is a huge amount of piled up boulders scattered everywhere – it makes you wonder how they got there… On our way out of the park, we saw the most stunning sunset yet. Eugene was especially impressed by the sight, and drove with a huge grin across his face and with his head out the window until the sun disappeared from view.
