Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming – Day 2

Posted by Euge on Jul 21, 2009 in Uncategorized |

Day two in Yellowstone was very interesting. We saw many hot springs and geysers. Some were completely inactive, some made lots of steam, some erupted a little water and one erupted a lot of water (old faithful). We also saw one bubbling mud pit – very cool. We made our way to old faithful, a very popular geyser, as you can see by the gathered crowd. The rangers can predict its eruptions within 20 minutes. We waited a little bit and it did not disappoint. It started slow but then began to spew water like a large fire hydrant 120 feet into the air – a very impressive sight to watch. In the parking lot, we saw cars from every state, even Hawaii, Alaska, and many Canadians. The only state we could not find and have not seen anywhere else is Washington DC. These politicians need to get out more!

Afterwards, we drove to Yellowstone lake, the largest lake above 7000 feet in the US(maybe the world?). It was a truly beautiful lake. As we kept on driving, we eventually left the park and are now on our way to Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore.

Впечатляющие фотографии и ролики, особенно гейзеры. У меня раньше слово “гейзер” ассоциировалось с Камчаткой, а теперь будет ассоциироваться с вашим путешествием.

Great Finale of Grand trip?
Colors are beautiful! it was one of my dreams to see geysers–and I saw it with your eyes, thank you!
in the last video even clouds have the same shape as geysers–like one substance turning to another….
Great American Bison! this one is real American–walking on the right side of the road. Do they have a “driving school” for bizons in National Parks?
